TelePresence

High Definition, life-like video conferencing

Beyond Video Conferencing

NUS has launched a Cisco TelePresence facility, the first of its kind for an educational institution in South East Asia.

TelePresence technology brings the person you are talking to into the room. A life-size high-definition screen displays your counterpart in such detail that you will perceive that he or she is sitting just across the table. You will be able to look right into their eyes.

A high-speed internet connection ensures that there is no perceptible video or audio lag, so nothing will get in the way of your meeting. The audio matches video for clarity and presence.

Located at University Hall 05-04 Conference Room, the TelePresence suite is one of only three universities outside the United States connected to their National LambdaRail (NLR), an ultra high-speed education and research network (as of June 2010).

Arrange a TelePresence session

  1. Does the other party* have access to TelePresence facilities?
    Check the list below.
  2. If yes, , stating that you wish to conduct a TelePresence session.
  3. We will liaise with you and the other party to set up the TelePresence session. If it is not possible, we will arrange for regular video conferencing instead.

* The NUS TelePresence facility allows you to join multi-party sessions but presently cannot host (initiate) them. To host multi-party meetings, we recommend video conferencing.
