The traditional model for courseware creation involves collaboration between content experts and instructional designers. While this method is tried-and-tested, it is sub-optimal for:
Content which is dynamic and evolving rapidly
Content which needs to be packaged and delivered at a moment's notice
With these in mind, CIT introduces the concept of Rapid Content Development. This empowers you to create content quickly while retaining full control and flexibility over the output.
We have identified two tools for Rapid eLearning, Breeze and eXe:
Breeze
Breeze is currently being used by numerous faculty staff throughout NUS. Breeze enables you to add narration, audio , video and quizzes to pre-existing PowerPoint presentations. The Breeze presentation is hosted in NUS and can be accessed through IVLE, on the internet or both, depending on your students' needs.
eXe
The eXe project is a desktop authoring environment which enables entry-level users to create interactive and professional-looking online learning resources quickly and easily. The eLearning XHTML editor allows you to design and develop eLearning websites without prior knowledge of HTML and other web technologies.
CIT encourages NUS faculty to use these tools to enhance your teaching and learning.
