What is a webinar?
A webinar or web seminar is similar to a live webcast. The biggest difference is that you can chat with other participants and ask the presenter questions.

What does a webinar look like?
View a recorded webinar. (Click View on the pop-up window.)

What do I need to participate?
If you can view this page on your computer, you most likely have everything you need to participate in the webinar. You will also need speakers or earphones to listen to the presenter.

Can I join a test session?
Click to join a test session. Please note that the session is unmanned, and it only tests if your operating system and browser are compatible.

How do I participate?
Click the topic title to register. You will be emailed a participation link. Click the link in the email on the day and the time of the webinar to participate. The first time you participate in a webinar, the webinar software will automatically install itself.

I am interested in conducting a Lunch & Learn session. How do I do this?
Please . We will provide all the necessary support.

Web conferencing is interesting. Can I use it for work?
Yes, indeed. Web conferencing is a cost-effective and productive method to collaborate with others, especially with partners overseas. Please for further information.

Online seminars

Lunch & Learn is a series of webinars. These cover a range of topics and are conducted online through web conferencing.

This page also lists other CIT webinars such as roadshows.

To participate in the webinar:

  • Click the title of the respective talk.
  • Fill in the registration form.
  • You will receive an email with a participation link. (Don't delete the email.)
  • Click the participation link in that email on the day, about 15 minutes before the talk, to attend the webinar.

EndNote X4 training for NUS Staff and Students (Online Seminar via Webex)

Synopsis
NUS Libraries will be conducting online training sessions for EndNote X4, which are highly recommend for students embarking on theses or dissertation writing. EndNote X4 (version 14) is a bibliographic management software that:

  • stores and organizes citations found from many sources into your own library of citations
  • inserts citations into a Word document as in-text citation and in the full list of References
  • automatically formats your references according to a predefined citation style (APA 6th, MLA, IEEE etc.) by a mere click
  • generates a detailed bibliography from your citation library...and much more!

These hands-on sessions will get you started on integrating EndNote into your research workflow so you can produce academic reports more efficiently. Join librarian Aaron Tay in a 'live' online session as he takes you through the use of EndNote. Attendees will be given the opportunity to interact with Aaron and ask questions online.
