About
The Centre for Instructional Technology was formed in 1999 to drive the use of technology in teaching and learning at NUS. Technology is an integral part of our lives, and it is increasingly being used to enable new possibilities in education.
To that end, CIT offers a smorgasboard of educational technology services. These include staples such as the Integrated Virtual Learning Environment (IVLE) and webcasts. We develop custom courseware to fulfil individual faculty staff's teaching needs. Backing this up is our multimedia team which provides a full range of audio-visual production services.
CIT facilitates audio, video and web conferencing, from high-definition TelePresence to computer-based online classes. We have also kept up with the social media boom, providing blogs, wikis, online mindmaps and customisable start pages for the NUS community.
Faculty staff can take advantage of our self-service offerings too. Various tools are available which allow faculty staff to create online lectures, check for plagiarism and create an interactive and engaging classroom.
Besides services, CIT promotes the use of technology in teaching through roadshows, training and annual seminar - BuzzEd. We also spearhead eLearning Week every semester, in conjunction with Computer Centre, so that NUS is ready for any eventuality.
CIT is here for all your educational technology needs. We hope to add positively to the learning experience in NUS.
Our contact details can be found on this page. You can also find contacts for each of our services on their respective pages. We are happy to hear from you.
